I love my hometown

Slideshow: Photos of life in Birmingham,
from the Magic City Flickr Group

I’m a Birmingham native. While I’ve traveled around the world, I’ve always come home to this city.

This summer, I want to show you why.

It’s a beautiful place with friendly people. Sure, it’ll be a tad warm come July, but that’s why we have air conditioners and sweet tea.

I want you to eat at our fantastic restaurants, the ones I get to enjoy regularly. Or enjoy a craft beer or take in a Barons game at the new Regions Field.

I want you to explore our history, as we mark the 50th anniversary of the civil rights events of 1963. Or scramble to the top of Vulcan to see the skyline at sunset.

Yes, I want you to network and learn about corporate storytelling, blogging and social media. But I want to give you a reason to come back again and again.

This is Birmingham, and I hope y’all will visit this summer.
