The formulas for storytelling in marketing, with beautiful examples

how to draw a rabbit

We’ve shared various techniques for corporate storytelling in the blog. But we haven’t offered a whole lot of examples, especially copywriting.

Fortunately for all of us, Alfred Lua at Buffer has done the heavy lifting.

In his post, “11 Storytelling Formulas to Supercharge Your Social Media Marketing,” he runs through different approaches to build a story. Lua includes a custom sample of each style.

For example, No. 4 is Problem – Agitate – Solve.

His copy: “Video calls aren’t always fun. Distracting background noises, no video images and poor connection. Unless you are using Zoom.”

Problem — Agitate — Solve

Check out his post for 10 more formulas with examples. As a bonus, he throws in “5 storytelling tips from amazing storytellers,” which guide us on making sure our stories have maximum impact.

It’s the perfect way to punch up our stories on our blogs, in our newsletters, on our social media channels — wherever our message connects with our audiences.
