An update on Y’all Connect 2016

Wade Kwon

I’m sad to announce that I’m postponing the Y’all Connect conference until next year.

One of my favorite aspects of our event is our sponsor model, allowing us to charge less — hundreds of dollars less — per ticket than similar conferences. It’s important that as many people who want to attend can do so. This year, I had a precipitous drop in sponsor dollars, and I need additional time to find new sponsors to replace them.

I’m committed to keeping our mix of nationally recognized speakers at an affordable daylong conference. I won’t skimp on niceties like food, drink or venue, nor will I let speakers go without fair compensation. I’ll make sure you leave the event with new digital marketing skills, networking contacts and smiles.

My apologies to our guests, our speakers and our sponsors for this delay.

My thanks to our sponsors Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex for their support this year. My thanks also to the many people who helped with recruiting sponsors over the last 6 months: Their time and effort mean a lot to me.

I do have some good news to share: Our 2017 conference will be Aug. 11 at the BJCC East Meeting Rooms.

Speakers for 2017 will include (tentatively) Jason Falls, Stacey Ferguson, Donna Francavilla, Jenny Schmitt and Kristin T. Scroggin.

I’ve emailed our 2016 ticket buyers to offer them a full refund or a 2017 ticket. If you have questions about this update, please leave a comment below or use our contact form.

I firmly believe that Y’all Connect is the best way to reach the South’s finest digital minds. If you’d like to talk to this group and their audiences, reach out to me today about 2017 sponsorship.
